718 Venue: Historic District
The new owner of this circa 1907 commercial space in downtown Fredericksburg, VA wanted to create something desperately needed in the area: a classic, small event venue perfect for weddings, dinners, parties, corporate functions and all of life’s other exciting moments. His vision was to provide a space with historic relevance that felt like any member of the Rat Pack might have held a chic event in this space. It was to look like the interiors came right out of a swanky, New York hotel. It also had to be in keeping with Fredericksburg’s strict historic architectural requirements. The building was gutted front to back. New commercially graded, ADA restrooms were added as well as a catering kitchen and a moveable bar. All elements were painstakingly designed by A.HICKMAN Design including trim, wainscoting, lighting, fixtures, wall treatments, furnishings, flooring, etc.
