This busy family wanted a comfortable, yet put-together, unfussy, classic home that not only functioned well for everyday living, but also was so easy to maintain that it always looked good for the friends and family that just “dropped by,” or book club, or just felt good to relax after a long day at work or sports. We took this home from dark, 1986-built structure to a light, wide-open modern home. We focused our attention on the main level living room, family room, study (now a multipurpose workspace), and sunroom (now a breakfast room). The following year, we reimagined the basement rooms into a colorful multigenerational hangout space, and during the pandemic, gave the powder room some serious wow-factor.
